In the morning

  • About 08:00 A.M: Our bus and tour guide will pick you up from the hotel in the Old Quarter. Start the morning itinerary to explore the distinctive aspects of the Vietnam Capital.
  • 08:15 A.M: Upon arrival at Tran Quoc Pagoda, the pagoda is located on an island east of West Lake. Established in the 6th century, Tran Quoc Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist temple in Vietnam. Under the Ly and Tran Dynasties, the pagoda was the Buddhist center of Thang Long Citadel. With about 1500 years of history and the combination of sacred and elegant architecture in the vast lake, the Tran Quoc Pagoda is famous for its holy Buddha land, attracting many Buddhists and domestic and international tourists.
  • 09:15 A.M: We are off to the Ho Chi Minh Complex. The complex is one of the most famous historic tourist attractions in Vietnam. The complex includes Ba Dinh Square (where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence), Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh’s House on Stilts, the Presidental Palace (White House of Vietnam), One Pillar Pagoda, and the House No.54. Visiting Ho Chi Minh Complex, make your way around the complex, you have a precious chance to learn about the Uncle Ho’s life.
  • 10:45 A.M: Next, we move to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. The museum was established in 1981 and is famous for showing the unique characteristics of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. The museum has an indoor and outdoor exhibition area. The indoor display especially shows the public ancient artifacts and precious documentary films about the daily activities of local people. Meanwhile, the outdoor exhibition has some recreation of traditional houses of ethnic groups in Nothern and Central Highlands.
  • At about 12:00 P.M: Have a great lunch at a local restaurant in the Old Quarter. Take a short break before continuing the afternoon itinerary.

In the afternoon

  • 01:30 P.M: Begin an energy afternoon by visiting the Temple of Literature. It was the first university in Vietnam. Visitors here can witness 82 stone doctoral steles recognized by UNESCO as “World Documentary Heritage”, and ancient temple areas. Nowadays, the Temple of Temperature has become an educational symbol and often holds award ceremonies for students. The Temple of Literature is not missed by those interested in Vietnam’s history and culture.
  • 02:45 P.M: We arrived at the last spot in the tour by visiting Hoa Lo Prison. It was built in 1896 by the French Colonial and became one of the scariest political prisons in Indochina at that time. The prison is also dubbed “hell on earth”, and the place was used for arrested political prison by the French Colonial government. From 1964 to 1973, the Hoa Lo Prison was a place to keep American pilots, and they called it the “Hanoi Hilton Hotel”.
